My Scrapbooking History

I began scrapbooking about 4 years ago with a group of women who I view as real pro's! Their pages were just beautiful and I was so proud when I pasted with a glue stick a few pictures onto a page, added a couple of stickers and thougth I had created a masterpiece! Then I realized how much more to scrapbooking there was to learn! Over the years I have added many new techniques to my collection of scrapbooking necessities. My favorite technique is using my Cricut Expression machine! Anything is possible with a Cricut and a few cartridges. I am always looking for new cartridges and have found the best buys at Cricutmachine.com and Ebay.com. I check out what is new on the Cricut website then start my bargain searches! I have made many scrapbooks for friends and enjoy designing pages with new themes in each book. I hope you will join my blog and enjoy some of my work!

What's Up With Me!

Hello everyone! I haven't been making cards for the last 2 weeks or so - been busy nursing a burned leg and a blood clot in my arm. Actually been nursing them for the last month but just have decided that I wanted to wallow in my wounds for a week or so.  Anyway, both are coming along well thanks to several doctors appointments, 2 pieces of silver that was placed on the burn, and blood thinners.  I did wake up the other night with blood all over both hands, my neck and face. At first I thought of those mystery movies where you wake up only to find that you have killed your husband while he was sleeping......he was snoring so I felt he must be okay.

I spent last weekend visiting with my super friend Rita.  We planned to scrapbook Saturday and Sunday and hoped to get much accomplished.  Between our talking, snacking and lounging around, we each managed to create 4 pages in our scrapbooks BUT they were really great pages!  I have been working on my grandson Donnell's book and Rita worked on her winter pictures of Zara, Ian and Kai.  I know she would be happy for me to write about her grandbabies!

So, now I have to get creative again this weekend and make Easter cards for my Grandkids, Dad and Step-Mom, and my Grandmother.  Got some ideas kicking around in my head - just need to put them together.  Hope you all have a great weekend - it is 80* here in Tennessee with a beautiful breeze.  Loving it after all that snow!

Peace,
Sherry

Jitterbuggin Card Challenge

Morning Friends!  Here is the sketch we had to follow for the Jitterbuggin Card Challenge:

Happy Spring everyone! This week let's make it look like spring by adding some Cricut flowers to our cards! Follow the sketch......add a Cricut flower.....and include pink and purple somewhere

My submission is a square card cut from pink cardstock.  I made two corners - one in purple and one in purple patterned paper that included some pink and lime green in the pattern.  I next added two rows of skinny pink rick rack ribbon.  I cut out a small Cricut flower, pop dotted it and put a pink pearl in the center.  I cut from George and Basics cartridge a circle in lime green paper then embossed it with Cuttlebug Swirls folder. Next using George and Basics I cut a smaller circle in white then stamped my spring stamp in the center.  Using Stampin' Up markers, I colored in the flower pot in purple, leaves in green and flower in dark pink and light pink.  All paper is from Stampin'Up, ribbon is from Oriental Trading, stamp from Big Lots.  Hope this card says Spring to you as much as it does to me!

Stamp from Stampin Up basket of cheer.  Used Stampin' Up black ink and colored the basket, flowers and bird with Stampin' Up Markers.  Added Rhinestones to three corners.

Die Cuttin Divas Unused & Unloved Cartridge Challenge

The Die Cuttin Divas asked for a project using an old cartridge that had something on it I had never used.  I found mine to be the Zooballoo cart. There was a tree, a house and some grass that I found on the catridge that I never used.  A little embossing and I was on my way!

Stampin Up Yellow and White dotted paper
Cricut Cut from Zooballoo house tree and grass
Cuttlebugged house with Swirls folder, Tree and Grass with Branches folder
House backed with black cardstock
Stamped flowers with Stampin Up Black Ink and colored in with Stampin Up pink pen
Everyday Moments stamped on blue cardstock.

Mo Jo Monday and Icopic Challenge #22

I made this card over the weekend at a day crop I attended. It is for the Mojo Moday Challenge as well as the Icopic Challenge #22.  Mojo Monday's challenge was to use the following sketch:
The Icopic Challenge was to use any sketch but it needed to include the colors Green, Lime Green and Turquoise.

I made a 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 card from Stampin' Up Old Olive green paper.  Next I used Marina Mist from Stampin' Up cardstock for the turquoise paper and embossed it with my Cuttlebug in a Nest folder.  I used a piece of light green cardstock for the center and placed the Red, Lime Green and Turquoise patterned paper that I inked in Really Red from Stampin' Up Ink next.  I placed a strip of Really Red on the side and added the Lime Green Diamond ribbon and bow on the side  I used a Stampin Up stame Delight in Life, stamped it on a piece of blush colored paper and backed it with the Really Red cardstock.  I colored in the flower on the stamp with my Stampin' Up markers.  (Hoping to win those Icopic Pens!)  I next cut a flower with my Cricut using the Accent Essentials cartridge.  Placed a Lime Green Brad in Center and Pop Dotted it.

Jitterbuggin' Challenge

I finally finished my card for the Jitterbuggin Challenge this week. The following sketch had to be followed and I needed to use the color green.

I used my Cricut cartridge Just Because Cards to cut a 5" square card in blue cardstock from Stampin' Up.  I cut a 4 3/4" square of Green Dots and 4 corners of Pink Fence (both papers were from the Celebrations Pack made by Cricut)  I attached 4 line of skinny pink ribbon then glued the corners over the edges.    Using the George Basic cartridge I cut a 3" rectangle in blue cardstock, then a 2 3/4" rectangle in white.  I inked the edges of the blue cardstock with Stampin' Up Marina Mist ink.  I stamped onto the white cardstock the "for you" and "corner swirls" stamps in Marina Mist ink.  I cut out 1/2" flowers from several different Cricut cartridges (I just looked at different ones and found a couple that I liked....any flower could be used for this design.)   After attaching them to the white cardstock I placed a tiny rhinestone in the center of each flower.  I cut a swirl pattern using the Serenage cartridge at 2", Cuttlebugged it with the Dotted Swiss folder and attached it to the white cardstock with a popdot.  I found a tiny sticker with of a flower pot with similar shaped flowers as the ones I had cut out and placed it in the "window" of the card on the left as a balancing point.  I think this will make a great Easter card for one of my family members!
