My Scrapbooking History

I began scrapbooking about 4 years ago with a group of women who I view as real pro's! Their pages were just beautiful and I was so proud when I pasted with a glue stick a few pictures onto a page, added a couple of stickers and thougth I had created a masterpiece! Then I realized how much more to scrapbooking there was to learn! Over the years I have added many new techniques to my collection of scrapbooking necessities. My favorite technique is using my Cricut Expression machine! Anything is possible with a Cricut and a few cartridges. I am always looking for new cartridges and have found the best buys at Cricutmachine.com and Ebay.com. I check out what is new on the Cricut website then start my bargain searches! I have made many scrapbooks for friends and enjoy designing pages with new themes in each book. I hope you will join my blog and enjoy some of my work!

Peachy Keen Challenge #44

THE CHALLENGE
Create a card or layout based on the SKETCH provided
TWIST
Use a monochromatic color scheme
What exactly is monochromatic? Using tints and shades of the same color. (i.e. if you choose "red", you must use red, pink, light pink, medium pink, etc.) Black and white will also be allowed!

I used Greens as my color scheme, lace instead of a paper strip and black and white as my accent colors. Cuttlebugged the star with Dotted Swiss and added some green bling gems.  The  "You make my life a beautiful thing" stamp is just how I feel about my daughter, Jessica!

Jitterbuggin Designs Challenge

My blog challenge from Jitterbuggin Designs was to use something yellow, something made with my Cricut, something with stripes and it had to be fun!

I used up lots of scrap paper with all of the papers being fun patterns.  I used my Cricut cartridge "Create a Critter" to make the sun as well as the background circles. I Cuttlebugged the sun with a bubbles sleeve.   This card is in answer to the snow days we have been having in my area of Tennessee!

Mojo Monday Challenge

This is my first challenge submission so I thought the best place to start would be on a Monday.  Mojo Monday had a challenge to use the sketch  which had to include some sort of stick pin and a bow.  I didn't havea stick pin but thought a decorative swirl with glitter would work.

I made this card for my dear friend Fawn, who just lost her mother this past Sunday.  I wanted a sympathy card but also something a little frilly and upbeat as she has been through a lot this year.

Kaden's Scrapbook

I finally finished my grandson Kaden's scrapbook!  He lives in Florida and I live in Tennessee so there were lots of pictures being sent to me over a years time.  I used my Cricut on almost every page - so much fun to create your own accessories!

Ruby's 75th Birthday Scrapbook

I designed a scrapbook for a friend to give to her friend Ruby who was turning 75 years old.  I knew nothing about Ruby so it was sometimes difficult to reflect her personality on the pages based on the photos I was given to use throughout the book.  I made many different embellishments, words and objects using my Cricut Expression as well as purchasing many embellishments.  Some of the photos were very vintage (1936 - 1960) and fragile.  I was able to make copies of some of the original prints too.  Here are a few photos of the pages.  Hope Ruby likes her birthday gift!
